Pilot Support
Pilot Success with Apache ServiceMix, ActiveMQ, CXF and Camel
The FUSE team customizes Pilot Support packages to suit your needs. Pilot Support packages can have as little as a 3 month commitment, and typically include a combination of training, consulting and Basic support. A small investment in fully understanding the technology and how to use it most effectively has a large pay-off later.
The FUSE team shares its experience in a variety of venues that focus on different pilot project requirements:
| Function | Risks | Options |
|---|---|---|
| Technology evaluation | Publicly available tutorials and training often cannot keep pace with the rapid release cycles of open source technology, and features that are not well demonstrated are often misused or ignored |
|
| Architecture design | It is not enough to know how to correctly implement new features; architecture designs can be modernized to take full advantage of new technology |
|
| Optimization | Old approaches to IT problems will ultimately work, but often large amounts of code can be replaced with new, configurable modules to reduce development time and maintenance efforts |
|
| Testing | Performance testing – due to heterogeneous message types, transactions per second is no longer a consistent metric for infrastructure efficiency Quality testing – comprehensive testing of individual services should be done before integration into the network to limit disruption and testing costs |
|
| Transition to production | As missions-critical projects go live and as they scale to involve more departments within the enterprise, knowledge of the continuing development of the projects combined with active support prevents disruptions and ensures deployment success |
